Ella's Special Day in Japan
28 April 2006Yesterday, Ella was an angel. At breakfast she asked me for more strawberries and when I brought them, she said, "Tank you, mama." It was so sweet. Then we played in her brand new sandbox before going to school and she was so EXCITED. It was delivered the night before.
In the afternoon we went to a friend's house for our normal Thursday mom and kids group. It's for friends in the area with kids of the same age. There are usually 5 to 6 of us and we share the work. She had a great time with the kids and at the end there were 4 of them sitting around this big drum, hitting it. I wish I had had a camera. The one girl not at the drum was dancing next to the others. It was like a movie.
Then we came home and had dinner (where she occasionally feeds me as well). Afterwards Ella said she had to go to the bathroom (she has been doing this but not actually then going on the toilet. She then went to the toilet (I helped her with her pants and diapers and then she went pee pee in the toilet after getting up herself (she has to always do everything herself)! Then we took a bath and while we were in the bath she told me twice she had to do pee pee so I let her out and she went again twice. Then right before bed she said it again and she went to the toilet for her 4th success in only about 4 hours.
Also, she always cries and complains when I rinse her hair in the bathtub. When I brush her hair after the bath she usually says, "No mama, no mama" repeatedly and sometimes has a little cry. Yesterday, I told her I was going to wash her hair and she said, "No cry", and she didn't. She was also so proud of herself. The exact same thing happened 20 minutes later when I told her I wanted to brush her hair. "No cry mama", she said, and she didn't. I think she decided yesterday she wanted to be a big girl. It was one of the cutest days I have ever had with her.
Oh, and on top of it I had someone and her baby over for an hour in the morning. We played on a blanket with some of Ella's old baby toys. When Ella came home from school I told her why it was there and the rest of the day she wanted to sit on the blanket with me and play with the baby toys. Twice I put all the toys in the basket with the blanket folded on top to put away. She unfolded the blanket and poured the toys out on top and said, "Sit, mama", pointing to the blanket.
